With Cooperation from ASEAN – Japan Center, the Council for the Development of Cambodia organized the “Cambodia Investment Seminar in Japan” in three different cities in Japan namely Tokyo on February 10th 2015, Nagoya on February 12th 2015, and Hamamatsu on February 13th 2015.
The seminars aim at updating the latest economic development of Cambodia and general investment environment and its policy in order to promote Cambodia as an attractive investment destination to the Japanese business community.
During the seminar, H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea, Minister attached to the Prime Minister, Secretary General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia presented the participants with information related to investment environment and opportunities in Cambodia. Particularly, H.E. Minister cited the increase of Japanese FDI to Cambodia in recent years making Japan the third largest foreign investor in Cambodia in 2014. His Excellency appealed to Japanese investors to invest in Cambodia as a production base to supply to ASEAN and to the global market as well as a part of the regional supply chain in the context of ASEAN Economic Integration. The case was supported by presentations of other speakers including Mr. Kiyotaka Doho of JETRO, Mr. Shinobu Washizawa of AEON Cambodia, and Mr. Masayuki Tomonari of Toyota Tsusho Corporation.
