This Law defines the principles, mechanism, compensation and procedures for expropriation relating to construction, rehabilitation and expansion of public physical infrastructure in Cambodia. Accordingly, immovable property, or real rights relating thereto, can be wholly or partly expropriated and only the state may expropriate property for the public benefit or state interest. This law requires an expropriation committee to be managed by a representative of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, with representatives from other government bodies.
