Press Release for Chinese Delegation meeting on 21 Sept 2015

On September 21, 2015 at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), H.E Sok Chenda Sophea, Minister attached to the Prime Minister, Secretary General of the CDC has granted a courtesy meeting with H.E Wang Qinmin, Vice Chairman of the National Council of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), who led a high level business delegation to visit Cambodia.

H.E Sok Chenda Sophea expresses his warm welcome and profound gratitude to H.E Wang Qinmin and his delegation for their study visit to Cambodia in order to understand the potential and favorable business and investment environment in Cambodia. H.E Sok Chenda Sophea briefs the delegation about investment potentials in Cambodia and gives full credits with appreciation to the presence of Chinese FDI in Cambodia for all sectors such as infrastructure, tourism, energy, manufacturing, cement and the establishment and management of the Special Economic Zones in Sihanoukville. At the same time, he hopes China will continue to provide more support to existing Chinese FDIs in Cambodia from the outward-looking policy and the One Road-One Belt Initiative of the President Xi of the People’s Republic of China that will help promoting industrial linkages for greater success of the existing Chinese FDIs in Cambodia, which he believes that China will continue to nurture and deepen relations between both countries.

H.E Wang Qinmin has expressed his appreciation for the warm welcoming for him and the delegation that makes the purpose of the visit in Cambodia at this time meaningful. The visit is not only to understand the current situation of Cambodia, but also aims at strengthening and expanding cooperation in trade and investment between both countries, Cambodia – China, in addition to the cohesive cooperation that both heads of governments have built for long times ago. As the Chairman of ACFIC, H.E Wang Qinmin will exert best efforts to help promoting and disseminating relevant information about Cambodia investment potentials to ACFIC members as well as other Chinese investors for them to decide making more investments in Cambodia.

It is worth to note that ACFIC established in 1953 as people’s business community that consists of 419 million registered members of China’s industrialists and businessmen. ACFIC also promotes outward investment mission to build closer relations with commercial and industrial counterparts overseas, and seek for business opportunities overseas for its members. In the visit to Cambodia this time, ACFIC has brought the big companies such as Hodo Group; New Hope Group; Haima Investment Group Co., Ltd.; Tianjin Datong Investment Group Co., Ltd.; Yuexing Group of China Furniture & Decoration Chamber of Commerce; Janho Group Co., Ltd.; Tianjin Julong Jiahua Investment Group Co., Ltd.; Union Development Group Co., Ltd.; Fujian Fengyi Light Industry & Textile., Ltd.; and SANY Group Co., Ltd.
